Google presents one of the most significant changes in a long time: Google Analytics 4, so if you have not yet migrated your Google Universal Analytics, you should do it now.

As of July 1, Google Universal Analytics will no longer be available, so you will no longer receive data from this old version. We recommend you start migrating to Google Analytics 4 to continue receiving data in the LogiCommerce dashboard.

In this article we explain what this new version is due to and what benefits it will offer to the eCommerce sector.

What is Google Analytics 4?

It is the evolution of Google Analytics Universal. Unlike the previous version, and instead of focusing exclusively on page views, Google Analytics 4 is event-driven, so it focuses on user interaction with the website, and offers a more complete view. This means you can monitor all user actions on your site, such as clicks, scrolls, dwell time, purchases and more.

Google Analytics 4

Why is Google Analytics 4 for eCommerce important?

One of the main reasons is because it offers a more accurate and detailed tracking experience compared to the previous version. Instead of simply tracking page views on your site, Google Analytics 4 can track user behavior throughout the entire checkout process, from product selection to checkout.

It also provides greater customization capabilities. You can create custom reports for specific data, allowing for a better understanding of how users interact with your site. This customization also includes enhanced conversion reports, which means you can see exactly how users go about completing a purchase.

Some of the new features of Google Analytics 4

Some of the new features it introduces are:

Includes an improved integration with Google Ads. You can now view your ad data directly in Google Analytics, allowing you to optimize your ad campaigns.

Revenue forecasting

Another new feature is the ability to make revenue predictions. You can use historical data to predict future revenue and adjust your strategies accordingly.

Custom reports

Offers custom reports that allow you to create reports specific to your needs. You can customize the reports to see the data that is important to you and act accordingly.

Advanced audience analysis

It also offers advanced audience analysis that allows you to segment your users more precisely. You can use this information to personalize your content, provide targeted offers and improve the overall user experience.

We will soon publish a very interesting article about the new features.
