Here’s a step-by-step summary of everything ACCIÓ offers and how your company can benefit.

Overview of internationalization services

ACCIÓ structures its services around three main pillars:

🔹 Internationalization Initiation and Growth

  • Internationalization vouchers (for strategic and operational support).
  • Collaboration with industry organizations like AMEC, PIMEC, Secartis.
  • Access to tools such as the Catalonia Trade Portal and Exporter’s Guide.
  • Dedicated program: International eTrade.
  • International promotion grants.

🔹 Diversification and Expansion

  • Supplier matching (Catalonia Suppliers).
  • Supply chain resilience support.
  • Business missions and incoming missions.
  • International expansion services.

🔹 Business Establishment Abroad

  • Multilocalization grants for setting up international subsidiaries.

Additionally, there’s a powerful cross-cutting resource: Technical Office for Trade Barriers (Helpdesk) — resolving logistics, tax, regulatory or customs issues in 24–48 hours, with live alerts on international trade developments.

International eTrade program: a 4-step roadmap

This program guides companies through four core stages:

  • Awareness: free, open-access webinars on key internationalization topics.
  • Training: group sessions on methodologies and tools for selected companies.
  • Advisory: access to internationalization vouchers for strategic planning.
  • Implementation: via ACCIÓ’s international offices and promotional support grants.

Internationalization vouchers: two types of support

This aid covers between €8,000 and €10,500 and includes two modalities:

✳️ Export Strategy

  • Designed to build a comprehensive omnichannel international plan.
  • Includes internal and external analysis, market prioritization, value proposition, channels, and action plans.

✳️ Getting Started with Exporting

  • Aimed at companies new to exporting.
  • Supports hiring a senior export manager, to structure the export department, define pitches, and generate first international contacts.

✅ Requirements:

  • SME based in Catalonia.
  • Minimum turnover: €250,000.
  • Exports must represent less than 25% of turnover.
  • Website in at least one foreign language.

International promotion grant

This grant covers 50% of your investment (up to €30,000) in international promotion activities:

What’s included?

  • Digital promotion: eCommerce development, content creation, SEM campaigns, social media, international marketplaces and directories.
  • Physical promotion: fairs, congresses, seminars, tasting events, booth construction, and trademark registration.

✅ Requirements:

  • Company based in Catalonia (S.L., S.A., or cooperative).
  • Minimum turnover: €500,000.
  • Website in a foreign language.
  • A current international promotion plan (template provided by ACCIÓ).

B2C marketplace access services

ACCIÓ offers feasibility assessments to help companies enter international marketplaces:

🇺🇸 United States

Cost: €315

Evaluates viability of selling on Amazon, analyzing logistics, pricing, customer service, positioning, and delivering a final report.

🇲🇽 Mexico

Cost: €975

Covers market entry strategy, platform analysis (MercadoLibre, etc.), pricing, competitors, logistics, and provides a full report.

ACCIÓ’s international offices

  • S.L. or S.A. based in Catalonia.
  • Solvency ratio above 1.2.
  • Minimum turnover of €1 million.
  • Subsidiary must be established between January 1 and December 31, 2025.
